A computer-controlled mirror reflects sunlight onto the street as a neon pink spot. Passers-by kick it, hit it with their shadows and volley it back and forth.
About the project
Solar Pink Pong is a hybrid of a street game and a video game. A computer-controlled colour mirror reflects sunlight onto the asphalt as a neon pink spot. Pedestrians can kick it with their feet, hit it with the shadows of their hands, volley it with a partner or bounce it off a curb or a road marking.
The device that makes this possible works autonomously and completely off the grid, mounted on a utility pole or the side of a building. Solar Pink Pong pushes video game culture and technology out of the living room and changes how people see daylight through the lens of technology.
